Category

Management Plans

Our Category Management plans address member gaps and work to incorporate sustainability into the supply chain. These plans specifically take general ESG topics and look at those from the lens of specific categories within the supply chain, including relevant ESG risks and opportunities.

ESG Maturity & Framework

The SSCA ESG Maturity Framework anchors what we do within SSCA. We annually benchmark our utility members’ maturity against the framework and use the results to inform our annual planning.

Workshops

The SSCA hosts topic-specific workshops to bring members together to learn, ask questions, and brainstorm to common challenges. These workshops include external guest speakers, member practice sharing, sharing of key resources, and room for group discussion. 2023 workshop topics have included

Fleet Electrification and

Investor Engagement.

Horizon Scanning

Ongoing horizon scanning guides the SSCA in educating our members on emerging issues and trends. This research ensures that the work we do meets current and upcoming member demands while driving the ESG ambition of members and the industry forward.

Data Collection - TSP

Our annual supplier assessment, the TSP, is the leading data collection platform for utility supply chain ESG data collection. The Assessment includes mandatory core ESG questions and additional industry specific ESG questions. The assessment provides a platform for utilities to collect valuable information from their supply chains while allowing suppliers to better understand utility expectations.

Select supplier responses undergo desktop verification through a

third-party, Insite Compliance.

Community Platform

The Community Platform is the place for SSCA members to join work teams, access resources, view our events, and participate in discussions with peers.

Education

The SSCA offers training programs and educational resrouces to members and suppliers. In 2023, our 5-part GHG training series supported attendees in developing a GHG inventory, including collecting data, calculating an inventory, and using results to drive impact.

State of Industry Report

The annual State of the Industry Report  shares sustainability trends, the influences of those trends on SSCA members, and examples of how members are addressing

those trends.
